Heat treatment processes for cast iron primarily consist of annealing and normalizing. In malleable cast iron, the spherical shape of the graphite minimizes the disruptive effect on the matrix. Heat treatment allows the matrix to function optimally, resulting in a substantial improvement in the mechanical properties of the machine's wear-resistant components.
