affecting the results. High-power machines generate higher velocities and impact forces, thereby more effectively removing dirt, rust, and scale from the workpiece surface
and improving surface cleanliness. However, excessive power can cause over-impact, leading to pitting or deformation, which in turn degrades surface quality. Low-power
machines are suitable for parts with minor surface contamination; they provide gentle cleaning without damaging the workpiece surface, though cleaning efficiency is lower.
Additionally, the volume of shot blasting affects the cleaning outcome. Both excessive and insufficient blasting can impact efficiency. Overly intense blasting can lead to
excessive surface hardness, affecting subsequent processing performance, whereas insufficient blasting fails to achieve the desired cleaning effect. The appropriate amount
of shot should be determined such that the ratio of the actual weight of the shot thrown at the casting to the weight of the casting itself is between 10:1 and 20:1. The specific
ratio should be selected based on the complexity of the casting.
